About Straitjacket Struggles
I stay fairly private, but if you look closely, you can learn more about me between the lines. You can also find me on FetLife as Str8JaketStruglz.
Working with a manufacturing partner
I don’t currently have the time or skills to hand-make straitjackets myself in the United States. To make an entry-level jacket, I needed a foreign manufacturing partner. That doesn’t mean I’m simply reselling a random inexpensive jacket.
The Experimentalist and Asylum Adventurer started with familiar, inexpensive designs. Then we put a lot of work into improving them: additional straps, better straps, reinforced panels, and changes to the sizing and patterns. Sizing is a challenge we keep working on, rather than something I consider solved.
The story on the homepage explains how I got started and why the small details matter to me. For measurements and available sizes, use the information for each jacket.
Beyond straitjackets
I’ve also found a niche buying and selling restraint chairs and second-owner Humane Restraints equipment. My collection is part of what inspired the digital museum we’re developing.
