01 / The origin

A shared project

The Posey replicas have a different story from our entry-level designs. Getting a true original was difficult even before production was officially discontinued. This canvas replica is really the work of a well-known German and our Pakistani manufacturing partner. They have been through dozens of iterations to create an authentic replica.

Our name is on the jacket, but the credit doesn't belong to us alone. This replica exists because of the people who kept refining it.

For Straitjacket Struggles, this is a chance to make something we've always wanted in our own collection available to others. Our intent is to become the North American distributor for this replica. You may be able to find other Posey replicas, but purchasing one from Straitjacket Struggles helps support a small business dedicated to sharing straitjackets and building a community around them.

02 / What makes it

The traditional experience.

If a canvas jacket is the one you picture when someone says ‘straitjacket,’ then you are not alone.

Canvas character

A visible weave, a matte surface and a pale finish. Canvas brings its own texture and personality to the jacket. It’s thick and stiff, almost unforgiving.

The recognizable position

Closed sleeves cross over the front, with straps and buckles completing the classic silhouette. The front and rear views tell different parts of the story.

A recreation to last

The label is ours. The goal was to preserve the character and durability that made the original so desirable.

03 / A different feel

Next-level inescapability

Canvas has a character all its own. It doesn't have the smooth surface of synthetic leather or the richness of real leather. It has its own rough and tumble feel. As the straps pull tight and your mobility diminishes, it’s clear this hug can be very snug.

Original sizing

The sizing information for the Canvas Posey Replica is a direct copy from the original. Don't assume a size from our entry-level straitjackets will fit quite the same way.

One crotch strap or two?

To my knowledge, the original came with a single crotch strap. Enough people prefer two crotch straps that we made the double-strap configuration a standard option for our replica.
